Who We Are
The disciples who make up Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church are passionate about serving the community; welcoming others as we have been welcomed by God; and coming alongside our youth, young families, and adults of all ages on their journey
We are Lutheran Christians, which means that we are a people who understand God to be gracious and generous. As it says in Psalm 103, "the Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love."
St. Peter has a 150 year history and a long tradition of outreach and service to its members and the community. See more about our History here.
We hope you will join us for a worship service to experience for yourself the fellowship of God's people here.
The mission of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran is to "worship and praise God boldly, witness to God's goodness, serve God with joy.”
Our Core Values
This is a faith community where we have experienced welcoming, and we seek to welcome everyone. Click here to read our Welcome Statement.
Together we grow in faith and support one another on this journey as we worship together. We have a call to be evangelists and to encourage people to grow in their faith.
This is a faith home, a place where we have experienced belonging and a sense of family. We long for this experience for our children and youth.
Faith formation with education and service experiences for our children and youth has high importance.
We honor our elders
We have a call to serve the community in practical ways. We see ourselves as a part of the community around us (near and far), and we are proud of our heritage of serving the community.
About the ELCA
St. Peter is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The ELCA is a church that shares a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. As members of the ELCA, we believe that we are freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. With our hands, we do God’s work of restoring and reconciling communities in Jesus Christ’s name throughout the world. Regardless of age, race, or status in life, members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America welcome you to join this community of faith.
This is Christ's church. There is a place for you here. Join us as we do God's work in Christ's name for the life of the world. Learn more about the ELCA here.
Our primary task is to proclaim the gospel, which is the good news of the life and ministry, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As a Christian congregation, we also provide ways in which people can serve their Lord and the wider world in which we
live. As God is gracious with us, so do we seek to be generous ourselves, giving ourselves and our resources.
These are our 2021 Mission Goals: “Welcoming, Connecting, Growing Faith 2021”
